The Malaysian Employers Federation has warned that 70% of graduates are stuck in semi- or low-skilled jobs due to a mismatch between academic training and industry needs. Citing oversupply in non-technical fields and a lack of job-ready skills, MEF is calling for universities to align programmes with market demands, expand TVET, and promote industry-academia collaboration. The group also urges financial incentives for companies hiring in-demand graduates to reduce underemployment and strengthen workforce competitiveness.
