*IFSCA Research Fellows*
In January 2025, the Institute for Food Security and Commercial Agriculture (IFSCA), Federal University Oye-Ekiti warmly received ten (10) new Research Fellows, selected through a competitive process that drew thirty (30) applicants. These Fellows have since actively contributed to our seminar series and various institute activities.
Currently, IFSCA proudly hosts thirteen (13) Research Fellows and six (6) Research Associates from diverse regions across the globe.
*Fellows in the Spotlight*
1. Dr. Toyin Samuel Olowogbon
Dr. Olowogbon was selected as one of eleven African Emerging Scholars to participate in the Nobel Symposium in Africa, held at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (STIAS) in Stellenbosch, South Africa, from March 11–15, 2024. His participation was supported through a competitive travel grant.
In May 2024, he was featured in the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) African Scholar Spotlight. See: https://www.povertyactionlab.org/.../african-scholar.../
In June 2024, Dr. Olowogbon was one of only five J-PAL African Scholars awarded funding to attend the Learning Together for Children’s Learning: An Interdisciplinary Convening at the Paris School of Economics and the Collège de France. In July 2024, he received a prestigious postdoctoral research fellowship in Digital Agriculture at the Migal Galilee Research Institute and Tell-Hai Academic College, Israel.
He was also selected and funded to attend the IZA/FCDO GLM|LIC Research Workshop, hosted by the Institute of Labour Economics (IZA) in Bonn, Germany, held March 11–12, 2025.
