The United States and China have agreed on a new framework to revive their trade truce and ease export restrictions, including China's curbs on rare earth minerals, officials announced Tuesday.
Following two days of high-level talks in London, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the deal builds on last month's Geneva agreement, providing substance to efforts aimed at reducing punitive tariffs that had soared into triple digits.
While the agreement marks a step forward, both sides acknowledged that key trade tensions remain unresolved, with little progress on deeper structural issues.
