HDFC Credit Card Changes – Effective 1st July 🧵 HDFC is updating charges and reward rules across categories starting July 1. Some changes may feel small, others could hit your wallet hard 💸 Here’s a clear breakdown of what’s changing 👇 1️⃣ Online Gaming Spends 🎮 Dream11, MPL, etc. 📈 1% fee on spends above ₹10K/month ❌ No reward points 🔒 Fee capped at ₹4,999/month High spenders on fantasy/skill-based games, take note. 2️⃣ Wallet Loads 💼 PayTM, Mobikwik, Amazon Pay, etc. 📈 1% fee on loads above ₹10K/month 🔒 Fee capped at ₹4,999/month ❌ No reward points No longer free to use your credit card to top up wallets heavily. 3️⃣ Utility Bill Payments 💡 Electricity, broadband, etc. 🧾 Fee remains 1% above: ₹50K (consumer) / ₹75K (biz) 📈 Max fee increased from ₹3,000 to ₹4,999/month ❌ Insurance excluded Paying big bills? Expect a higher fee cap now. 4️⃣ Rent Payments 🏠 1% fee continues 📈 Max fee per transaction increased to ₹4,999 (from ₹3,000) Big rent = bigger fees if you’re using a credit card. 5️⃣ Fuel Transactions ⛽ Still a 1% fee on high-value spends 📉 Thresholds stay the same: ₹15K (consumer), ₹30K (biz) 📈 Max fee per txn now ₹4,999 A hit for those who fill large fuel tanks often. 6️⃣ Education Payments 🎓 1% fee applies via 3rd-party apps 📈 Max fee per txn now ₹4,999 (was ₹3,000) ✅ Payments made directly to institutions are still fee-free Go direct to save that 1%. 7️⃣ Insurance Reward Points ⛑️ Points now tracked monthly instead of daily ✅ New monthly caps: • Infinia: 10K pts • DCB / Biz Black: 5K pts • Others: 2K pts 🛑 No changes for: Millennia, UPI, Swiggy, Paytm, Best Price cards ✅ Marriott Bonvoy: unlimited points continue 🎉 📌 In Summary: From July 1st, HDFC is tweaking multiple fee caps and reward structures. 🔍 Read the fine print 💳 Track your spends 📉 Avoid avoidable fees Stay smart with your card usage 💡
