*Rs 227 crore water, sewage infrastructure to be built for Neopolis in Hyderabad*
As Neopolis in Kokapet positions itself as a model for focused urban development and sustainable growth, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is set to implement a series of major infrastructure projects. Backed by Rs 227.22 crore in funding from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), these efforts aim to bolster water and sewage systems in the emerging vertical city.
The planned works include a 45 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP), two 2.5 ML elevated service reservoirs, a 9 ML ground-level reservoir, a pumphouse, a 132/6.6 KV substation, chlorination facilities, an office, and staff housing. The STP will be maintained for 15 years, with large-diameter pipelines (1800 mm and 1500 mm) laid for gravity and pumping operations.
The HMWSSB has issued tenders requiring the selected agency to conduct detailed surveys and obtain design approvals before beginning construction. Officials noted the project supports the state's broader vision of making Kokapet a showcase for sustainable urban living.
