The Haredi DATK (under the “L’Shem Shamayim” program) at the Ramat David Airbase is a designated framework in which Haredi technicians are integrated into IDF service for the first time. DATK 7 (the “Haredi DATK”) serves Squadron 105 and was established to enable meaningful military service while fully preserving the Haredi lifestyle — with specific accommodations including gender-separate environments, strict kosher standards, and separate sleeping arrangements. The soldiers serving in this unit are graduates of the Level A Technician Course and are responsible for the maintenance of F-16 aircraft in the operational “Scorpion” squadron.
