The Election Commission of India conducted by‑elections, across five assembly constituencies—Kadi and Visavadar (Gujarat), Nilambur (Kerala), Ludhiana West (Punjab), and Kaliganj (West Bengal)—covering 1,354 polling stations. For the first time, mobile‐deposit facilities (jute/pigeonhole boxes with volunteer assistance) were introduced at all entrances. Real‑time voter‐turnout updates were enabled via the ECINET app, with data entered every two hours and immediately after polls, reducing delays. Additionally, webcasting was implemented at almost all stations, alongside individual mock‑poll training and a Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls—first in nearly two decades—paving the way for Bihar Assembly polls
