*MOST FARMERS ARE POOR, BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO SELL.*🍉😳 Why Most Small-Scale Farmers Fail Most farmers aren’t broke because they can’t farm. They’re broke because they don’t know how to sell. Period. The most dangerous sentence in African agriculture is: > “There’s no market.” That phrase has become the anthem of the uninformed. How can anyone, in their right mind, say there’s no market for food — On a continent where millions eat daily… Where cities are expanding every month… Where supermarkets and restaurants multiply year after year? Africa’s food import bill is growing every year. The market exists. What’s missing is your ability to sell to it. --- Production Without Sales is Useless Too many small-scale farmers believe that once they grow good produce, buyers will magically appear. From where, exactly? The sky? Let’s be clear: > Quality doesn’t sell itself. Visibility does. If you don’t market what you grow, your harvest will rot in your hands — literally. And yet, most farmers spend their time reading free WhatsApp PDFs on planting, soil pH, and pest control. That’s okay — for your workers. But if you’re the owner, your obsession should not be rows of spinach. It should be: Who is buying? What are they willing to pay? How often will they come back? Read books by Seth Godin, Michael Porter, and Geoffrey Moore. Because farming is not just about growing food — > It’s about building a system that turns crops into cash flow. --- I’m a Farmer — But I Don’t Read Farming Books I let my team handle the technical stuff. My focus is on: Positioning Branding Logistics Margins That’s why I always have stock — and more importantly, cash flow. I don’t romanticize farming. I treat it as a business. --- The Most Profitable People in Agriculture Don’t Touch the Soil The richest people in agriculture often don’t own hoes — they own distribution channels. They live in cities, wear clean clothes, and understand: Markets Packaging Negotiation Distribution Timing They don’t plant. They plan. And while you’re celebrating your bumper harvest, they’re collecting the profit. Why? Because they know how to sell. --- Selling is More Profitable Than Farming This is the truth many farmers refuse to accept. Until you master sales, you’ll always be the one working the hardest — and earning the least. If you want to stay in the field, that’s fine. Then hire someone who knows how to market. Whether it’s tomatoes, chickens, or cabbage — If you don’t have a sales system, you’re just farming for the compost heap. Marketing isn’t optional. > It’s not an extra job. It IS the job. --- Don’t be the farmer who wears overalls but can’t show bank statements. Don’t be the one who grows food for others to profit from. > Be a businessperson who farms — Not just a farmer hoping for miracles. --- Learning with *AGRI_FARMS21* 🍉🥬🥦 #agri_farms21 #agricultureupdates #goatfarmingexcellence #farmpreneurship #legacyfarming #impactdrivenfarming
