𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 – 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗽 & 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 A deadly storm hit Central Vietnam, causing huge losses to aquaculture in Quang Tri, Quang Binh & Hue: 171 hectares of shrimp ponds in Vinh Linh were flooded overnight. Farmers lost up to ₹40 lakhs (VND 1 billion) each—shrimp stocks completely destroyed. Over 32,000 fish (cobia, croaker, bass) died in Cua Viet cage farms due to sudden salinity drop. Farmers’ entire season’s investment—post-larvae, feed, and labor—gone in one night. No time to act—floodwaters rose over 2 meters by 1 AM, washing everything away. Aquaculture farmers are devastated. Immediate support and climate-resilient solutions are urgently needed to protect these coastal livelihoods.
