A new Aquaculture Business Incubator has been launched at Gauhati University, mentored by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) under the MSME Ministryโs ASPIRE scheme.
The incubator will train youth and farmers in fish seed production, aquafeed making, ornamental fish farming, and post-harvest techniques, promoting sustainable micro-enterprises across Assam and the Northeast. Itโs supported by ICAR-CIBA, Lucknow, and features modern hatchery and feed units.
Officials called it a big step towards self-employment, skill-building, and boosting Assamโs blue economy.
