*KAKRA BAIDEN AIRPOWER DEVOTIONAL* *HOW TO PLEASE GOD* Colossians 1:10 – “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” One of the goals of walking with God is to be fruitful in every good work. But what are “good works”? They include acts of service—ministering, helping others, living righteously, and extending kindness. Jesus is our ultimate example; He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38)—healing the sick, teaching God’s Word, and lifting the broken. I remember a man who had been married for 15 years without a child. The pressure on him to seek a child outside the marriage was intense, but he chose instead to come to church. I laid hands on him and prayed. Shortly after, his wife conceived. Today, they have a beautiful baby girl. That is the fruit of good works done in God’s will—bringing hope where there was despair. We see another example in Acts 9:36–39, where Dorcas (Tabitha) was known for her kindness and charity. She made clothes for the poor, and her good works made such an impact that people wept and pleaded for her resurrection when she died. Even working honestly to care for your family is a good work. As Scripture says, “If any would not work, neither should he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Whether you’re in business, education or ministry, if you work with integrity and serve others, you are being fruitful, and God is pleased.
