IRCTC has launched a new initiative under the Akshaya Patra scheme to serve hygienic and affordable meals for just ₹80 directly in general class coaches. The meal, similar to those in AC coaches, includes dal, rice, vegetables, roti, pickle, a spoon, and a napkin. The service is currently available in six trains and will soon expand to more, including key stations like Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Lucknow.
