Daniel Moyana and Selinah Moyana, both residing along the Mutare-Chimanimani Road, are accused of unlawfully interfering with Jourbet Crushers and Transport Private Ltd on May 16, 2025, in defiance of a court directive. The mine’s director, Mr. Andries Hendrick Joubert, reported the matter to the police, leading to their arrest. The accused were brought before Mutare magistrate Tendai Mahwe, who did not place them on remand but granted US$50 bail each. The case was postponed to June 25 for further proceedings. Prosecutor Mrs. Sharon Mlambo informed the court that Moyana and Moyana contravened Section 182(2)(e) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23), which deals with contempt of court. The court heard that the High Court order HCMTC94/25, issued on May 14, 2025, barred any disruption to mining operations at Sheerluck Mine in Fern Valley, Mutare, yet the accused allegedly proceeded to halt activities unlawfully. "The accused persons willfully disregarded a valid court order," said Mrs. Mlambo, arguing that their actions had directly contravened the judicial directive. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as concerns mount over the enforcement of court rulings in commercial disputes. -ZimMetro
