Two vehicles broken into at Hilton carpark — laptop stolen, damage reported Two separate incidents of vehicle break-ins were reported at the Hilton Hotel carpark this week, leaving one driver with property losses and another with damage to their luxury vehicle. In the first incident, around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, a woman parked and secured her grey Honda CR-V on the eastern side of the Hilton carpark before leaving the area. When she returned at approximately 10:16 a.m. the following day, she discovered the rear windshield shattered. A cream-coloured laptop (serial number 8FLM314), a dark grey wireless mouse, and a black power cord, collectively valued at $1,800 USD, were reported missing from the trunk. In the second incident, reported under malicious damage, a man parked and secured his silver Mercedes-Benz on the eastern side of the same carpark around 3:45 p.m. that same day. When he returned at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, he discovered the right rear passenger door glass broken. No items were reported missing, but the value of the damage is yet to be assessed. Both incidents occurred within close proximity and timeframe, and are being investigated by officers from the Belmont CID. —
