_Masvingo United Triumphs in Electric Clash Against Renco FC at Mucheke Stadium_ *By Tafara Pande* Masvingo - The Pacific Storm Eastern Region Division One League lit up Mucheke Stadium today as Masvingo United, affectionately known as Una Una, hosted Renco Football Club in a thrilling encounter. A vibrant crowd, brimming with passion, gathered to witness what turned out to be a memorable match for the home side. Referee Masaiti officiated the match, which was graced by key football dignitaries, including ZIFA Eastern Region Administrator Mrs. Fungai Munyoro, Mr. Simbarashe Mandishona, Mr. Philip Tanaka Shumba, and Mr. Maboke. From the first whistle, both teams demonstrated tactical discipline, with a strong emphasis on defense, leading to a goalless first half. The game sprang to life in the second half. At the 55th minute, Masvingo United's in-form striker Mutetwa, popularly known as Malaika, broke the deadlock with a clinical finish. He followed up with another goal in the 67th minute, completing a well-deserved brace and sending the home supporters into wild celebrations. Renco FC clawed one back in the 75th minute, briefly silencing the crowd. But Masvingo United wasn’t done yet forward Adam Tende added a third in the 81st minute to seal a commanding 3-1 victory. Supporter James Rukanda praised the team, saying, “This is the Masvingo United we know and love. The young players are showing great promise. Thumbs up to our coaches Heyday, Dondo, and Mugo we are very grateful.” Club Chairperson Mr. Tavarura declared, “This is the resurrection of the great giant, Masvingo United. Credit goes to our loyal supporters, Byword Motors, Caravan, Hon. Ezra Chadzamira, Mr. Philip Shumba, our technical department, and many others who make this possible. I could name people all day.” In other league action, St. Paul's Musami and FC Hunter played to a goalless draw, while Risutu FC had a bye.
