_Hon. Chitando's Philanthropy Transforms Gutu Central Community_ 19 June 2025 *By Tafara Pande* Gutu Central - Hon. Winston Chitando, Member of Parliament for Gutu Central, continues to uplift lives through selfless service and impactful development initiatives across his constituency. At the heart of his efforts is the Gaisanai Chitando Program, which provides free grinding mills to local villagers. Beneficiaries include Utsinda (Ward 8), Maturi (Ward 38), Chipangane (Ward 37), Mushayavanhu (Ward 35), and Mupata (Ward 22), all of which now enjoy easier access to food processing. Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Chitando has also invested in spiritual development. The Chitando family recently built and handed over a state-of-the-art church to the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe an enduring symbol of faith and community support. In Ward 8, under Headman Gadzingwe, the Johane Marange Church led by St. Nimrod received 100 bags of cement to assist with construction of toilets and a pastor's house. A 5,000-litre water tank was donated, and a solar-powered borehole is scheduled for drilling in August. At the handover, Hon. Chitando's representative, Cde Trust Bare, emphasized the importance of working with churches in driving development and moral leadership. Community members expressed overwhelming gratitude. Mrs. Museza thanked Hon. Chitando for “remembering the grassroots,” while Mr. Gandashanga praised both the MP and President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa for their unwavering support, aligning with the national mantra: No one and no place shall be left behind. Gutu Central residents now describe Hon. Chitando as a God-given leader, whose developmental footprint is empowering communities both physically and spiritually.
