The EThekwini Municipality invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Authorised Officer in the Durban Metro Police Service Unit. Job Purpose: To perform auxiliary policing and traffic warden functions from controlling traffic and responding to accidents, to attending court and managing emergency situations. Minimum Requirements: • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) • Aged between 18 and 35 • Must be a permanent resident of RSA • Medically and mentally fit • No criminal convictions • Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one within 9 months) • Fluent in English and at least one other official language • Willing to undergo fingerprinting and background checks Key Competencies: Community focus, ethics, resilience, communication skills, emergency response, and teamwork.
