Allah says in surah al-An'am: [قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ انظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ] _Say: Travel through the land and then observe how was the end of the deniers._ [11] Commenting on this, Sheikh Faysal Aal Mubarak wrote: [وقوله تعالى: {قل سيروا في الأرض ثم انظروا كيف كان عاقبة المكذبين} ، يقول تعالى: قل يا محمد لهؤلاء المستهزئين بك، المكذبين بما أنزل الله عليك: سيروا في الأرض، فانظروا ديار المكذبين: كعاد، وثمود، وقوم لوط، وغيرهم. قال قتادة: دمر الله عليهم وأهلكهم، ثم صيرهم إلى النار.] Allah is saying: O Muhammad, tell those who mock you and deny what Allah has revealed to you, *"Travel through the land and look at the homes of the deniers such as 'Aad, Thamud, the people of Lut and others.* Qatadah said: that Allah destroyed and annihilated them and then sent them to hellfire.
