*A doctor in Government Medical College, #goa was suspended without any enquiry and arrogantly with misbehaviour shown by a minister in goa and even instructing him to learn “How to stand in front of him”.* _Yesterday morning, a patient came to the Casualty. The CMO examined him and, as per protocol, referred him to the the ward for a inj Vit B12. The patient then called the Health Minister directly._ _Soon after, the Minister arrived at the hospital. Without any enquiry or hearing the doctor’s side, he suspended the doctor on the spot, claiming the doctor was rude and refused treatment._ *Minister reportedly verbally abused the doctor and other staff with shocking statements like:* 1. Put your hands down when you are standing in front of me. 2. Your bloody ego – kick him out from here. 3. You are not authorised to speak when I am speaking. 4. Get out or I’ll get security to throw you out. 5. Learn to shut up when I’m talking to you. 6. I’ll suspend you for 2 years as long as I’m here. 7. When I make up my mind, I don’t want to listen to you. *Reactions from Doctors’ Community* *_FAIMA and other national associations have demanded an immediate public apology and condemned this as an “attack on clinical autonomy” and “an insult to the entire medical fraternity.” along with Indian Medical Association (IMA) – Goa State issued a press note condemning the incident as “emotional assault,” calling the action arbitrary, high-handed, and a violation of due process.
