Lesotho senior national team head coach, Mr. Makhetha Leslie Notsi, told members of the media on Sunday that he has not lost hope following his teamβs 4-0 defeat to Angola in their second match of the 2025 COSAFA Cup.
Mr. Notsi acknowledged the strength of the Angolan side, congratulating them on their deserved victory. He noted that his team conceded from standard situations where they should have defended better. However, he remains optimistic and believes his players must come back stronger in the next match.
βThe boys are not disheartened by the loss,β Notsi said. βWe just need to support them, push them, and restore their confidence.β
He added that while his side created several chances, they lacked composure and precision in front of goal. βWe need to be a bit more bullish and aggressive,β he remarked.
Mr. Notsi also explained that Angola allowed his team some space during the build-up but denied them opportunities in central areas. He noted that adjustments made in the second half helped Lesotho gain more entries into the final third.
Looking ahead to their decisive clash against Namibia on Tuesday, Notsi promised a more offensive approach. βThis match will be different. Weβll apply more pressure on their defence and look to control the game.β
Lesotho will face Namibia in a crucial final Group D match that will determine whether the Crocodiles progress to the next stage of the tournament or head home.
