*Indefinite Shutdown Declared by ITLF Over Killing of Village Chief’s Wife* *20/06/2025 (Fri):* The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) has declared an indefinite shutdown in protest against the tragic death of Mrs. Hoikholhing, wife of the Chief of Langchingmanbi Village. She was reportedly killed during a crossfire between armed miscreants and security forces. The Kuki woman was killed in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on Thursday, June 19, 2025—just hours after a Meitei farmer was injured in a separate gunfire incident at Phubala that injured a farmer. Terming the incident a grave injustice, the ITLF condemned the authorities' failure to ensure the safety of civilians.
