*ASUU Rejects VC Appointment in Kano* A crisis is brewing at Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano, as ASUU petitions the Federal Government, rejecting the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor. The union describes the process as a “charade,” alleging it was conducted without transparency or inclusion of statutory bodies like the Senate, Congregation, and Convocation. ASUU accuses the Governing Council of bias and conflict of interest, demanding cancellation of the VC appointment, removal of the council chairman, reconstitution of the council, and compensation for victimized staff.
