Each direction tells where one body part is in relation to another:

🔼 Superior (Cranial)
📍 Meaning: Toward the head or upper part of the body
📌 Example: The head is superior to the chest.

🔽 Inferior (Caudal)
📍 Meaning: Away from the head or toward the lower part
📌 Example: The stomach is inferior to the lungs.

⬅️ Medial
📍 Meaning: Toward the midline of the body
📌 Example: The nose is medial to the eyes.

📍 Meaning: Away from the midline of the body
📌 Example: The ears are lateral to the nose.

🔁 Intermediate
📍 Meaning: Between two structures
📌 Example: The collarbone is intermediate between the breastbone and shoulder.
