*EFCC Arrests Ex-Plateau House Speaker and 14 Lawmakers Over N2.5 Billion Money Laundering Allegations* The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 17, 2025, arrested the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Moses Thomas Sule, along with 14 other former lawmakers. They face allegations of money laundering and abuse of procurement processes during their short six-month tenure. Investigations revealed that the former legislators were provided with luxury vehicles worth about N2.5 billion by the state government, which were supposed to be returned after their term but were unlawfully retained. Efforts to recover the vehicles failed, forcing the government to purchase another set valued at N2 billion for the current assembly members. The arrested lawmakers include Gwottson Fom, Sani Abubakar, Jwe Philip Gwom, Thomas Dantong, Happiness Mathew Akawu, Cornelius Dotyok, Agbalak Ibrahim, Danjuma Azi, Fwangje Bala Ndat, Salome Tanimu Wanglet, Namba Rimuyat, Nimchak Rims, Ishaku Maren, and Paul Datugun.
