*Sector Lead Set to Establish Recycling Plant in Jalingo Following Site Inspections* Jalingo, Taraba State – June 19, 2025 In a strategic move to enhance environmental sustainability, Sector Lead, a prominent waste recycling firm, has completed a comprehensive inspection of major dumping sites across Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. The visit marks a key step toward establishing a recycling plant in the state. The inspection, conducted earlier today, covered locations including Pantinapu, Mile Six, Roadblock, Runde, and Sibre — the proposed site for the facility. The team evaluated the nature and volume of waste generated daily, as part of a broader effort to develop a suitable recycling framework for the area. Speaking during the exercise, the Taraba State Commissioner for Waste Management, Hon. Shonzen Bernard, emphasized that the initiative aligns with Governor Agbu Kefas’ agenda of converting waste into economic assets and fostering a cleaner, healthier environment. Engineer Victor Dogo, Technical Counsel to Sector Lead, explained that the assessment would guide the company in designing a recycling model tailored to Taraba’s specific waste profile. He noted that the project aims to contribute to environmental cleanliness, advance climate action objectives, and improve public health outcomes. The findings from the site visits are expected to shape the final strategy for the plant’s development and operations. — Chini Bohma Godwill
