_News_ | *Auction of David Lynch’s belongings includes script for unmade film* 👇 An auction of personal items belonging to the late director David Lynch brought in $4.25 million, nearly 5 months after his passing. The auction featured 450 items, including Lynch's embroidered director’s chair, his hat, several cameras, film props, guitars, his coffee machines (of course), and even the iconic red curtain and zigzag carpet from Twin Peaks. The top-selling item, fetching $195,000, was a set of 11 scripts for the long-abandoned project “Ronnie Rocket: The Absurd Mystery of the Strange Forces of Existence.” Lynch began developing the script after the success of Eraserhead in 1977, but shelved it because he was unable to secure a budget. Parts of the script later leaked on the internet, and the project gained cult status among fans. The identity of the buyer remains unknown, and so does the possibility of the project ever being revived. The auction was organized by Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and the proceeds went to Lynch’s heirs. The legendary director, writer, musician, and visual artist had passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 78, due to complications from emphysema, linked to long-term smoking.
