*Early Summer Break Likely for Kashmir Schools Amid Rising Temperatures*
*SRINAGAR, JUNE 20:*. In light of the ongoing heatwave across the Kashmir Valley, the Education Department is considering announcing an early summer vacation for schools, much before the usual July schedule. The announcement was hinted at by Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Friday.
Minister Itoo stated, “There is a strong possibility of announcing summer break before July due to rising heat across the Valley. We are considering an early summer break because students are suffering due to the heatwave.”
To help cope with the extreme temperatures, school timings have already been revised across the region. The aim is to minimize students' exposure to the severe daytime heat.
On Thursday, Minister Itoo indicated that a *10-day vacation may begin from July 1*, with a *possible extension depending on weather conditions*.
This move is expected to provide much-needed relief to students, teachers, and staff, as the heatwave continues to intensify. Parents and school authorities are now awaiting the official announcement from the administration.
