Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that President William Ruto has been facing domestic issues with his wife, First Lady Rachael Ruto, which explains her noticeable absence from several recent public events.
Speaking during a church service, Gachagua claimed that the tension between the President and the First Lady had grown to a point where the President even suggested that Gachagua should also stop appearing in public with his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua.
In one particular incident, Gachagua narrated that during an event at State House, President Ruto attempted to have Mama Dorcas removed. However, Gachagua reportedly refused, insisting that he would only allow his wife to leave if Raila Odinga’s spouse, who was also present, left as well. The standoff is said to have left the President surprised, resulting in Pastor Dorcas staying at the event while First Lady Rachael Ruto remained absent.
