On this *INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY* , let us remember the true purpose of yoga—union with the Supreme. The Bhagavad-gita teaches that real yoga is not merely physical exercise but the practice of *devotional service (bhakti)*, which frees us from material bondage. By cultivating steady devotion, we rise above the three modes of nature and attain spiritual liberation. This is the essence of *Krishna consciousness*, the highest form of yoga.
As we observe this day, let us reflect on the deeper meaning of yoga as explained in the Gita. True yoga means connecting with the Divine through selfless service and surrender. By following the path of *bhakti-yoga*, we attain inner peace and transcend the temporary struggles of material life. May this International Yoga Day inspire us to embrace the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad-gita.
