*Get Understanding* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 143 (23/05/2025)_ > *_Proverbs 4:7 "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."_* There are many important things in life to acquire, but there are some that rank higher than others. The Word of God tells us that wisdom and understanding are to be desired above all else. Understanding is rooted in knowledge, and it rises to bear the leaves of wisdom. When we have understanding, it causes us to take steps of wisdom. Here are three reasons to get understanding: 1. *Understanding prospers a person.* Proverbs 19:8 (NIV) "The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper." Understanding how things work is necessary in the pursuit of purpose. Any person who will succeed in any profession or endeavour has to acquire an understanding of how that trade works. Otherwise, failure is inevitable. But the one with understanding will soon prosper. 2. *Understanding establishes a person.* _Proverbs 24:3 (NIV) "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established”_ To be established means to be settled and positioned in such a way that we are ready to enjoy continued benefits or profit or increase. And it is understanding that brings such establishment to the things we pursue in life. Therefore, get more understanding of what you do. 3. *Understanding gives sound judgment.* 1 Kings 3:9 "Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?" King Solomon asked God for an understanding heart to judge God's people. As believers in the Lord, we need a heart of understanding to discern good from evil so that we can have sound judgment to make well-informed decisions. _Precious one, get understanding of what you do so that you can make the right decisions in life and be established to enjoy continued prosperity._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, as I seek to get understanding, help me attain unto wise counsel, in Jesus’ name.
