*Do The Right Thing* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 147 (27/05/2025)_ > _James 4:17 (CEB) "It is a sin when someone knows the right thing to do and doesn’t do it."_ The Bible says that knowing what is right but failing to do it is a sin in the sight of God. God expects us to do the right thing which is according to His Word and not according to the world or tradition. If you are still struggling to do what is right, then you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour to break the power of sin over you, or you are a believer who needs to learn to walk by the spirit and not by the flesh. Here are three reasons why you must live right: 1. *All will go well with you.* _Deuteronomy 6:18 (NLT) "Do what is right and good in the Lord's sight, so all will go well with you. Then you will enter and occupy the good land that the Lord solemnly promised to give your ancestors."_ God expects everything about His children to go well for them. But this only happens when we do what is right in His sight. Do what God expects you to do and you will enjoy every promise He has solemnly sworn to you. 2. *Doing right attracts a reward from God.* _Ephesians 6:8 (CEB) "You know that the Lord will reward every person who does what is right, whether that person is a slave or a free person."_ Doing the right thing in the sight of God attracts God's favour and reward. Because Cornelius did the right thing by worshipping God and giving much alms to the poor, God remembered him by rewarding him with the gift of salvation to save his entire household. 3. *Doing right is better than sacrifice.* _Proverbs 21:3 (NIV) "To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice."_ God prefers that we obey and follow what He has said other than we trying to do something big to please Him while ignoring His Word. If a person kills for money and builds for God with it, he is not justified and will not be accepted by God. _Precious one, doing the right thing has a reward from God because it is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice and it makes all things to be well with you._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, strengthen me to do the right things in life, in Jesus’ name.
