*Allow God To Correct You*
_By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_
_Day 148 (28/05/2025)_
> _Job 5:17 (NLT) "But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin."_
Just as is the duty of every parent to correct their children, God also wants to correct us in all our ways because it is His responsibility to do that. The Lord knows those who are His, and His correction brings forth good fruits in our lives, hence the need to allow Him to correct us. As long as you belong to God, you will surely go through correction so that you will stay on the path of life. Here are three reasons why you must allow God to correct you:
1. It produces wisdom.
_Proverbs 29:15 (NLT) "To discipline and reprimand a child produces wisdom, but a mother is disgraced by an undisciplined child."_
When you refuse to be corrected by God, your life eventually leads to disgrace because you are deprived of wisdom. The lessons we learn from our mistakes are a good guide for our next steps.
2. It is a sign of His love for us.
_Revelation 3:19 (NLT) "I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference."_
God's love for us is also proven through His discipline. God corrects and disciplines all His children because His love seeks our welfare. It is His responsibility to do that because we are His dear children.
3. Rejecting correction is despising your future.
_Proverbs 15:32 (CEB) "Those who refuse discipline despise themselves, but those who listen to correction gain understanding."_
When you refuse discipline or correction from God, you despise yourself and your future. Correction from God trains you to become what God has purposed for you to become but once you don't allow God to discipline you, it means you don't esteem His plan for you.
_Precious one, remember that God loves you and He has planned the best for you, so embrace His corrections in the journey of life, and it will be well with you._
*Prayer:*
_Heavenly Father, grant me a soft heart so I will be taught by your discipline, in Jesus’ name. Amen._
