*Be Consecrated Unto God* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 149 (29/05/2025)_ > *Joshua 3:5 "And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you"* We see in the opening scripture how God demanded consecration or sanctification from His people so that He would move mightily and do wonders among them. The dictionary defines ‘consecrate' as “to declare or make something holy”. To consecrate is also similar to ‘sanctify’, which means “to make holy, or set aside for sacred or ceremonial use.” Believers who are not consecrated try to use God to serve their purposes and selfish desires; however, consecrated believers are rather used by God to serve His divine purposes. Here are three reasons why we must live consecrated lives unto God: 1. *Consecration is a prerequisite for the flow of God's power.* The opening scripture is clear on the subject. Because God was determined to perform wonders among His people, He commanded their sanctification. Jesus Christ walked in the power of God by the spirit of holiness. Romans 1:4 states "and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead." 2. *God can freely use a consecrated vessel.* 2 Timothy 2:21 "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." Living a life of consecration makes us prepared, ready, honourable, and sanctified to serve the will of the Father. Though saved, a believer who is not consecrated will be of no use to the kingdom of God. Our God is holy and delights in using purged and sanctified believers. 3. *Our hope of being joined with Christ when he appears is hinged on our sanctification.* 1 John 3:3 states, "And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." The Bible reveals that the Lord will come back for a Church without spot or wrinkle, thus, sanctification is vital if we want to be caught up with Him when he appears in the sky. _Precious one, together with Apostle Paul, I beseech you, therefore, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God. This is our reasonable response to God in order to manifest His power, to become useful vessels, and to be caught up with Jesus when he appears again._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, help me live a consecrated life unto You, in Jesus’ name. Amen._ *Cross References:* Leviticus 21:8 1 Thessalonians 4:1-5 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 _Join my WhatsApp and Facebook broadcast channels for more insights and life-changing information:_ *WhatsApp:* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaDR57i8F2p9KGQQdf1C *Facebook:* https://m.me/j/AbYGVDBGVG4mwk4K/
