*Market Comment* *Market Wrap: Stocks, Bonds, Commodities* On Wednesday, major U.S. stock indexes pared early gains to close little changed, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipping 44 points (-0.10%) to 42,171, the S&P 500 dipping just 1 point (-0.03%) to 5,980, and The Nasdaq 100 was largely flat at 21,719. As expected, the Federal Reserve held its key interest rate unchanged in a range of 4.25%-4.50%. It continued to project two more rate cuts in 2025. Fed Chair Jerome Powell pointed out that some effects of tariffs on inflation are beginning to surface, saying the central bank is well positioned to wait before moving further on rates. The 10-year Treasury yield edged up less than one basis point to 4.391%. Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's demand for unconditional surrender, and threatened the U.S. with "irreparable damage". Intel (INTC) advanced 3.32%. The chip maker announced the appointment of a new chief revenue officer. Coinbase (COIN) jumped 16.32%. The crypto exchange revealed it is seeking approval by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval to launch stock trading using blockchain technology. At the same time, Tesla (TSLA) gained 1.80%, and Plalantir (PLTR) was up 1.27%. U.S. markets will be closed on Thursday (June 19) for the Juneteenth holiday. In Europe, the DAX 40 fell 0.50%, and the CAC 40 dropped 0.36%, while the FTSE 100 closed 0.11% higher. Oil prices stayed buoyed, as the Israel-Iran conflict showed no signs of ending soon. U.S. WTI crude futures added 30 cents to 75.14 dollars a barrel. Gold price slid 28 dollars to 3,369 dollars an ounce. *Market Wrap: Forex* The dollar index held up well at 98.89. EUR/USD dipped 2 pips to 1.1477. USD/JPY fell 13 pips to 145.12. GBP/USD dropped 11 pips to 1.3413. Later today, the Bank of England is expected to maintain its key interest rate unchanged at 4.25%. AUD/USD rose 33 pips to 0.6507. USD/CHF climbed 25 pips to 0.8186, and USD/CAD was up 15 pips to 1.3695. Bitcoin managed to hold at levels above 104,000 dollars. *Morning Trading* In Asian trading hours, AUD/USD retreated to 0.6480. Australia's employment fell 2,500 in May, compared with +15,000 estimated, while jobless rate was steady at 4.1% as expected. Meanwhile, EUR/USD slipped to 1.1455 and GBP/USD dropped to 1.3393. USD/JPY was broadly flat at 145.16. Gold edged up to 3,378 dollars. Bitcoin was steady at 105,008 dollars. *Expected Today* U.S. stock market is closed for Juneteenth National Independence Day. In the U.K., the Bank of England is expected to keep its benchmark rate unchanged at 4.25%.
