*Be a Key, Not a Hammer.* In a village, there was a lock shop where the locksmith would break many locks and craft numerous keys every day. A man used to visit the shop daily to learn the trade. The man observed that a small key could easily open even the strongest lock. One day, he asked the locksmith, "A hammer is much more powerful, contains a lot of iron, and is larger than a key. Yet, breaking a lock with a hammer takes a lot of time and effort, while a small key opens a strong lock so easily. How is that?" The locksmith smiled and replied, "When you use a hammer, you strike the lock from the outside, trying to break it. But a key goes deep inside the lock, touches its core, and with a gentle turn, it connects with the lock’s inner mechanism without causing harm, and the lock opens effortlessly." What a profound thought! Similarly, no matter how powerful or strong we are, unless we touch people’s hearts and connect with their inner selves, no one will truly respect us. Just as a hammer’s blows don’t open a lock but break it, if we try to accomplish things through force, we will often fail. Because with force, we cannot touch people’s hearts. And people say, "We don’t get respect." How can you earn respect if you haven’t become worthy of it? In life, we should all strive to be a key, not a hammer!
