A wildfire in the Bata Pahari forest of Malakand district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has scorched nearly 6 kilometres of land as of Saturday.
Reports indicate the fire, which ignited two days ago, has rapidly intensified, reducing vast stretches of forest to ashes.
With flames threat-ening nearby areas, a local FC post was evacuated as a precaution. FC, Levies, and Rescue teams are currently battling the blaze on site.
However, strong winds in the mountainous terrain are hampering containment efforts.
In the past two months, nearly two dozen fires have hit this range, with district administration and forestry officials struggling to manage the crisis effectively.
