Approximately 20 shops were destroyed by a fire in Harare’s CBD on Leopold Takawira Avenue. Reports suggest that the blaze resulted in damages exceeding an estimated US$50,000 in stock. As the shops burned, looters descended on the scene, attempting to salvage whatever they could.
