NOTICE OF CONGRESS POSTPONEMENT Great Ife! Sequel to the earlier notice convening an emergency congress tonight, I write to inform you, fellow students and comrades that the Congress has been postponed until further notice. This decision was not made lightly. It follows a series of consultations and urgent security briefings concerning the current atmosphere on campus. The welfare and safety of Great Ife students remain the foremost priority of this administration. In light of rising tensions surrounding the recent controversy within the Student Representative Council and the constitution of the Electoral Commission, the University Management has stepped in to begin investigating the matter. We believe it is responsible to allow these interventions take their course, and to avoid any potential escalation that could compromise the safety of students or disrupt campus activities. Moreover, holding a mass gathering at night, under the current conditions, poses avoidable risks. As a Union, we must always prioritize collective safety while upholding democratic ideals. We understand the gravity of the issues at hand, and we remain committed to ensuring that no faculty is unfairly sidelined and that due process is followed in all Union activities. Further updates will be communicated in due time as we continue to engage all relevant stakeholders within and outside the Union structure for a just and lasting resolution.
