Bhekimpilo Tshongwe was sentenced by the Victoria Falls Magistrates’ Court to six months in prison, with four months suspended for three years. The remaining two months were also suspended on the condition that he completes 210 hours of community service. Prosecutors told the court that Tshongwe sent a defamatory WhatsApp message on 8 February 2025 to the Chinotimba Primary School parents’ group. In the message, he falsely accused the school head of attempting to dissolve the School Development Committee in an effort to conceal alleged misconduct. The school head reported the message to police, leading to Tshongwe’s arrest.
