JOINT PRESS RELEASE
19th June 2025 (Thursday)
In reference to the press statement issued by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) on June 19, 2025, the Joint Kuki Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) unequivocally endorse the call for an Indefinite Shutdown in response to the brutal and targeted killing of Mrs. Hoikholhing, Chief of Langchingmanbi Village.
Mrs. Hoikholhing fell victim to the ongoing campaign of state-sponsored ethnic cleansing directed against the Kuki minority. Her assassination is a chilling reminder of the deliberate and relentless violence that has engulfed our people, abetted by the inaction—and at times, complicity—of the state apparatus.
The Joint Kuki CSOs express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Kuki-Zo community. We stand in absolute solidarity with the ITLF and the general populace in demanding justice and accountability.
Accordingly, we urge all Kuki communities, organisations, institutions, and concerned individuals to strictly observe and uphold the Indefinite Shutdown declared by the ITLF, with immediate effect.
