*EULOGY TO OUR FALLEN HEROES* ------------------------------------- *Mrs. Hoikholhing Haokip* (55 years) > *w/o Pu Khaikhogin Haokip, Chief of Langchingmanbi Village, Churachandpur, Manipur* *Cause of Death:* > Shot by a bullet In a tragic unfolding of event which highlights the incompetence of the governing apparatus in Manipur, Mrs. Hoikholhing Haokip became a victim who lost her life at the hands of Meitei militants on 19th June 2025 at Langchingmanbi, Lamka. The incident sets precedence on the sporadic ethnic conflict that grapples the state despite the President’s Rule and the presence of Central forces in the vicinity. Repeatedly was the buffer zone breached by the Meiteis, and such blatant infringement of the territorial boundaries had eventually claimed the life of one innocent woman. The murder of Mrs. Hoikholhing foregrounds the failure of the Central and state machineries in protecting the Kuki civilians and the urgency to fortify the buffer zones.
