Some key teachings of Jesus Christ
Jesus taught his disciples various essential principles for living a righteous life and spreading God's message.
- *Counting the Cost of Discipleship*: Jesus emphasized the importance of considering the challenges and sacrifices that come with following Him. He taught that being a disciple requires prioritizing one's relationship with God above all else, even family and personal interests.
- *Giving Up Everything*: Jesus called His disciples to renounce worldly desires and priorities, taking up their cross and following Him. This involves surrendering one's own ambitions and desires to serve God and advance His kingdom.
- *Loving God Above All*: Jesus taught that loving God with all one's heart, soul, and mind is the greatest commandment. This love for God should manifest in obedience to His will and a deepening relationship with Him.
- *Loving Others*: Jesus emphasized the importance of loving one's neighbors as oneself. This includes showing compassion, kindness, and forgiveness to those around us, even if they are enemies or have wronged us.
Some specific teachings of Jesus include ¹:
- *Don't Worry*: Trust in God's provision and care, seeking first His kingdom and righteousness.
- *Love Your Enemies*: Show kindness and compassion to everyone, regardless of their actions towards us.
- *The Golden Rule*: Treat others as you would like to be treated, summarizing the law and prophets.
- *Forgive Others*: Release grudges and forgive those who wrong us, as God forgives us.
Jesus also modeled discipleship through:

- *Teaching*: Using parables, sermons, and everyday situations to impart spiritual truths.
- *Mentoring*: Guiding His disciples through hands-on ministry experiences and intentional leadership.
- *Rebuking*: Correcting His disciples when necessary to keep them on track and promote spiritual growth
