Galatians 6:1-7, Daniel 6:1-4, Genesis 39:6, Matthew 25:1-12. INTRODUCTION: Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD. Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Your feeding determines your living because, Everything good or bad begins with our thoughts, in Matthew 4:4 Jesus said "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". The character of accountability is derived from what you consistently feed on. It suggests that, what we say and do is a reflection of our inner selves (Luke 6:45). There has been a decline in accepting responsibility and being accountable for our actions as we grow up. No one wants to take responsibility anymore. They instantly look for someone to blame. It’s not new because Adam did it, but we have perfected it in this last days. It’s never our fault. Politicians blame the other party. Typically we like to excuse and accuse. this message is for me as much as it is for you. God doesn’t want us walking around feeling guilty. He wants you and me to come to Him and confess our sins and let him forgive us. That’s what happens when we take responsibility and become accountable for our own lives. SOME SENTIMENTAL INACCOUNTABILITY BEHAVIORS ARE: - THE RIGHTS MENTALITY This goes like this. “I have my rights.” We are obsessed with rights: criminal rights, victim rights, animal rights, abortion rights, right to die, Our culture has reached the point where the obsession with rights is making it hard for us to think socially… as a society. - THE VICTIM MENTALITY This goes like this. It’s not my fault… it’s always someone else's fault. You spell blame B-lame so every time you blame someone else, you are being lame. Adam blamed Eve (Genesis 3:12). - THE ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY This one says, “I deserve it.” The world owes me a living. So we have a whole generation of people that grew up with no accountability, thinking that society owed them something. (Galatians 6:1-7). People are obsessed with power-positions and are doing as they please since their positions gives them power to manipulate the judiciary. But know this that God is watching. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you. You allow things into your mind through the eye gate and the ear gates. It always amazes me what people listen to or watch. Don’t feed on trash. Don’t listen to trash music. Don’t watch trash stuff on TV. It's no more entertainment it's contending with your soul and will soon control your actions. You may think you can listen to and watch trash and it will not affect you, it will. You may fool me or you may even fool yourself but you will never fool God and you will be accountable to him. Those who sell beer wouldn't use drunkards to advertise their products, they are where the money comes from and they would not advertise if a beer commercial didn’t make people go buy beer. So don’t think trash will not impact you. Garbage in garbage out. Whatever you put into your mind will eventually come out in behavior. One of the ways Satan tries to get deviant behavior accepted is by getting you to laugh at it. That’s why we don’t watch very many shows now. They are always trying to slip something in. A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash. Now rate your self on this one, are you accountable with you thoughts?. Ask God to search your heart and to set your motives right.
