*Yoga for the ‘Common Concerns of Humankind’* _"On this International Yoga Day, as the world seeks refuge in ancient wisdom to heal contemporary wounds, we must recognise that yoga is not merely a posture — it is a practice of presence, an inward journey that harmonises the self with the cosmos. In the face of a deepening climate crisis and systemic inaccessibility, yoga emerges not just as a physical discipline but as an ecological and ethical consciousness. For billions, especially the most vulnerable, the mental toll of exclusion from climate resilience frameworks, public health systems, and public spaces manifests as compounding eco-anxiety and accessibility anxiety. These are not abstract fears — they are lived realities shaped by unequal infrastructures and an increasingly unpredictable environment. Rooted in the Traditional Indigenous Knowledge and the Indian Knowledge System, yoga offers not only personal regulation but collective reclamation. It invites us to still the fluctuations of the mind, as the Patañjali Yoga Sūtra teaches, while also awakening us to the shared responsibility (“Pancha Rna”) of building a more accessible, compassionate, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable world that ‘leaves no one behind’. If SDG 3 envisions health and well-being for all, then yoga — when truly inclusive and universally accessible — must be its spiritual and practical ally. In this era of uncertainty marred with the ‘Common Concerns of Humankind’ (Sustainable Development Goals, Planetary Crisis, Threat Multipliers, and Polycrisis), let us turn to yoga not as escape, but as engagement; not as silence, but as solidarity."_ https://sangyan.medium.com/yoga-for-the-common-concerns-of-humankind-b82eeab660c6
