In the first innings, Bangladesh scored 495, with Mushfiqur Rahim smashing 163 and Najmul Hossain Shanto contributing 148. Sri Lanka replied with 485, led by Pathum Nissanka's impressive 187 and Kamindu Mendis' 87.
Bangladesh then declared their second innings at 285/6, with Shanto scoring a brilliant 125* and Shadman Islam adding 76. This set Sri Lanka a target of 296 in 37 overs.
