Dear Muslims, this is a basic awareness initiative on the above subject. As you prepare to renew your national IDs, please note that by the mercy of Allah SWT, the law now requires the NIRA system and Authorities to accept muslim women with veils on their heads ( without requiring them to remove the veils ) in the processing of their National Identity Cards, in line with the ICAO 9303 standards requirements. Note however that some NIRA field officers may not be aware of this information and may as such try to intimidate you and ask you to take off your veils to have your face captured in the system. Please be steadfast and communicate with them in respect and calmness to have your face captured with your veil intact.
