MDEC is proud to be a strategic partner of the FIKRAtech Roundtable, organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia in Jakarta. The event served as a valuable platform to strengthen fintech and digital innovation ties between Malaysia and Indonesia. The event commenced with welcome remarks by Sharifatul Hanizah Said Ali, Executive Director of the Securities Commission Malaysia. Ir. Wan Murdani Wan Mohamad, Head of Digital Industry Acceleration at MDEC, delivered a presentation highlighting Malaysia’s robust digital ecosystem and its commitment to advancing regional digital economy collaboration. MDEC also participated in a series of in-depth roundtable discussions covering critical topics, including regulatory and government support for startups, innovation in Islamic capital markets and social finance through fintech, the use of AI in ESG and social impact reporting, cross-border expansion strategies, and the future of Islamic fintech. A key milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Fintech Association of Malaysia (FAOM) and Asosiasi Fintech Syariah Indonesia (AFSI), marking a new phase of cross-border collaboration. In his closing remarks, Ir. Wan Murdani emphasised the importance of strengthening Malaysia–Indonesia tech partnerships under the ASEAN spirit — to unlock new markets, co-create solutions, accelerate adoption and foster inclusive regional growth, particularly in islamic digital economy. #SayaDigital #MalaysiaDigital
