Only identified as Godwin, the suspect is popularly known as Bogus, and is alleged to have kicked and punched Cyprian Muradzi’s head until he passed on while his family watched. He was 25. Bogus found his wheelbarrow hidden in Cyprian’s bedroom following a tip off. Amid the assault, Cyprian’s wife, Tsungirai Karanji, 23, rushed to her brother to seek help and they went to the nearby police post. However, Bogus had escaped by the time they got back. Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Bogus. “Police are investigating a murder case at Damafalls in Ruwa. “Circumstances are that on June 15, 2025 around 10pm, the deceased stole a wheelbarrow at Danny Bar, Ruwa. “A follow up was made by the accused leading to the recovery of the wheelbarrow in the now deceased’s bedroom. “The deceased was questioned about the wheelbarrow by the accused and other people resulting in a heated argument. “The deceased then took two bricks and threw them towards the crowd which was questioning him. “This did not go down well with the accused person who then assaulted him until he fell down. “Upon discovering that the deceased was not conscious, the accused fled. “The body of the deceased was taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary for post mortem,” said Insp Chakanza. *(🌕) UZ using conciliation hearings to buy time – striking lecturers say as job action clocks day 66* VIEW & FOLLOW THIS CHANNEL✅️ https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VagGq6t30LKOGkSspb1w The Association of University Teachers (AUT) has accused the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) of stalling negotiations while profiting from the labour of adjunct staff filling the roles of striking lecturers. With the UZ lecturers’ wage strike now entering its third month, lecturers remain resolute in their demand for salaries to be raised to US$2,250. In a recent interview with NewZimbabwe.com, AUT spokesperson Professor Obvious Vengeyi said that no substantial offer has been made by the government, despite previous assurances. As a response to the ongoing impasse, coalition meetings among various university unions have been convened to strategise next steps, reinforcing their commitment to a united front in this labour dispute. “All state universities unions including non-academics and academics, attended conciliation hearings yesterday 17 June 2025. “The proceedings were again adjourned to 08 July 2025. We feel that this is a strategy by the employer to endlessly buy time while we are working as their slaves for free. It’s cruel. “But in principle, non-academics and academics are on the same page, there is no going back. “They have resolved to join AUT in the industrial job action. There is no going back,” he said. Students also said they are worried that the situation has remained unresolved for a long time. Zinasu spokesperson for UZ Chapter, Darlington Chigwena, said their future has already been compromised as the review of UZ qualifications has gone down. He said students will fight in the corner of their lecturers because they are excessively affected. “The return of our lecturers means that we are going to have credible and quality education. “We are together with lecturers, we are working hand in glove. “Also, as students, we are not only showing substantial solidarity to the lecturers because we are aware that if they are treated in a proper manner, it means that we are going to excel as students. “We are also aware that as students we are workers in transit so if the rights are being respected it means that our rights as future workers are also going to be respected so the picket which is going to happen on Monday, we are going to partake, we are goi g to participate as students, we are going to be there as many as the sand of the sea showing our solidarity with them making sure that justice prevails both for the lecturers and the students,” he said. The next picketing will be held on Monday. - NewZimbabwe.com.

*(🌕) Getbucks corners Magaya over US$400k debt, moves to liquidate his estate* VIEW & FOLLOW THIS CHANNEL✅️ https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VagGq6t30LKOGkSspb1w By Darlington Gatsi, NewZimbabwe - Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Walter Magaya is facing legal action after failing to settle a US$420,140 debt owed to GetBucks Microfinance. GetBucks has approached the High Court seeking to liquidate Magaya’s estate following allegations that the cleric has frustrated efforts to recover the loan, claiming he has no assets. Last year, the High Court issued an order against Magaya, his wife Tendai, and their company Planet Africa (Private) Limited, where they are directors, requiring payment of US$420,140.72 plus interest. Subsequently, a writ of execution was issued leading to the attachment of Planet Africa’s immovable property — a piece of land called the Remainder of Stand 166 of Prospect, measuring 3.2323 hectares (Deed of Transfer number 4076118, dated July 27, 2018) — scheduled for sale on March 28, 2025, as security for the debt. However, GetBucks said efforts to execute the judgment have failed because Magaya and his wife have taken steps to avoid the sale. Days before the scheduled sale, the respondents voluntarily placed Planet Africa under Corporate Rescue, frustrating the sale process. The court was informed that there are no other assets available, and that the couple has abused legal procedures to avoid paying the debt. “These include the PHD Ministries and The Walter Magaya Family Trust,” GetBucks said, accusing Magaya and his wife of using these entities to evade execution of court orders. Magaya and his wife are prominent figures, with Magaya being the prophet at PHD Ministries. “The two have presented themselves as individuals with nothing and have used entities as agents. They should show the court how they are settling personal obligations and sustaining themselves,” stated the application. GetBucks requested the court to grant a provisional order to commence the liquidation process promptly and also sought punitive costs due to the abuse of court processes. The matter was scheduled for a virtual hearing on Wednesday. NewZimbabwe

*(🌕) A number of sabhukus in Hwange go for years without receiving salaries* VIEW & FOLLOW THIS CHANNEL✅️ https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VagGq6t30LKOGkSspb1w A NUMBER of headmen in Hwange, Matabeleland North, have gone for years without receiving payment from the Local Government ministry. This emerged in Parliament when Hwange East legislator, Joseph Bonda, questioned why headmen from his district were being neglected and demanded answers on measures being taken to clear their outstanding allowances. “My question is directed to the minister…. to clarify why headmen in Hwange district have not been receiving their salaries and to provide information regarding any outstanding pay owed to them?” Bonda asked. Local Government deputy minister, Benjamin Kabirika, said all headmen were being paid. “Let me say all appointed headmen in the Hwange area are receiving their allowances. There are none that are owed any back pay,” Kabirika said. In a supplementary question, Bonda said Hwange had only one headman in the whole district getting a salary. “Some have gone up to something like 10 or 15 years and they are not being appointed so that they can be substantive,” Bonda said. “How prompt is the ministry preparing to make sure that the headmen who are the pillars of development in the village will one day get a salary like headman in other districts?” Kabirika said the Local Government and Public Works ministry was trying to the best of its ability to ensure the appointment and installation of traditional leaders. “As a ministry, we will try as quickly as possible to expedite their appointment,” Kabirika said. Another legislator Tofanana Zhou asked the deputy minister what was the government position regarding the appointment of chiefs in resettlement areas. “It is in the pipeline and the ministry is working towards appointing the chiefs, but the first port of call is the alignment of the Traditional Leadership Act with the Constitution which is at an advanced stage,” Kabirika said. *Southern Eye*
