On February 26, Argentine President Javier Milei issued a presidential decree to fill two Supreme Court vacancies. The decision came after President Milei failed, for months, to muster the two-thirds Senate majority needed to fill the vacancies under normal procedures. Guatemala is failing to prevent and address systemic sexual violence, resulting in forced pregnancies among girls under 14. Girls who have experienced sexual violence are often pushed out of education, struggle to access health care and social security, and face enormous barriers to justice. A New Jersey law that allows prosecutors to unilaterally decide whether children are tried as adults is causing devastating harm. Judges can only intervene if they find that a prosecutor has abused their discretion. This leaves children vulnerable to arbitrary life-altering decisions, with little to no oversight or recourse.
