Learning Disability Week launched yesterday. Everyone is invited to be a part of the week. It's an annual national initiative and this year's theme is 'Do you see me?' The week aims to raise awareness, challenge stigma and celebrate the talents of people with a learning disability and what they contribute to our lives. It will show how important it is for people with a learning disability to be visible, represented and understood. There is a programme of free events and activities in Sheffield that everyone can attend. Some need to be booked in advance, so please check before attending any of them at www.artworks-sy.co.uk/learning-disability-week

*New temporary housing strategy approved* A brand new approach to temporary housing has been approved. It will help people who need short-term support the most. It will also help with the rising costs of this type of housing. It was given the green light at this morning’s Housing Policy Committee.
